5 Things I'm Thankful For

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving!! Since tomorrow is Thanksgiving I decided today's Wednesday post would be about 5 things I'm thankful for. Obviously there is a MILLION things I'm thankful for such as food, water, shelter, etc but I thought it would be nice to share a handful of things I will definitely be giving thanks for tomorrow (and everyday).

1. My Family!
I couldn't leave out my nearest and dearest mom, dad, and little bro. We have been through a lot in the past year and it means so much to me that we are all as close as we are. I'm so beyond thankful to have a supportive and loving family that I enjoy spending time with. Sometimes the people closest to us are the ones we don't really appreciate because they are always there. As I've gotten older I've realized how much my family has done for me over the years and that I need to make sure I'm showing them my appreciation.

2. Kyle (my boyfriend)
I also could not leave out this guy. Oh my gosh could I write pages about him... he is the kindest, most loyal and loving person I've ever met. He has always stayed by my side (even when it might've been a little difficult) and supported me no matter what. Kyle keeps his promises and loves me so much that sometimes I think he has to be faking it. I am so lucky to have the man in my life who (as cheesy as it sounds) has shown me what true love is. Love can be really hard sometimes but I know with him by my side we can conquer anything.

3. Senior Year
Okay I know you aren't suppose to rush time and God has a plan for every thing BUT I'm so excited that I'm almost done with school. As much as I've enjoyed school (heavy sarcasm here) I'm very ready to enter into a new chapter of my life. I know real adulthood can be very challenging but I feel ready to take on these new challenges. I'm thankful for the time in school that I've had because I know there are so many people who don't get proper education but I am ready for something a little (or a lot) different.

4. The Places I've Traveled
So I haven't traveled to Bali or Italy or even Mexico (I say that because it is so close to the US) but wherever I travel to I'm very grateful for the opportunity. This year I traveled to Orlando, Florida for spring break to visit Kyle while he worked for Disney for a semester. I had never been to DisneyWorld before so getting to spend 4 days there was awesome! It was a challenge to get down there (HUGE snowstorm) but God had our backs and got me down there and I will be forever grateful because I got to see Kyle after months without him. Also, Kyle and I visited Las Vegas for his 21st birthday! I had been to Las Vegas multiple times but it was Kyle's first time. That as you can imagine was so much fun! It was such a nice break between summer school and when real school started!

5. Lessons I've Learned
I know I know super cheesy and super general but I HAD TO! In the past year I felt like I've gone through Hell and back (although there are many people who have gone through worse) and I've had to learn some hard lessons. Lessons where you question everything and ask why you have to learn this lesson. Like I said there are many people who I'm sure have experienced much worse but that is why I'm especially grateful for the lessons I've learned. Yes I've had to go through some challenging experiences but they are nothing compared to the good in my life and I've really grown a lot from them. I tend to shut down and become a turtle when I go through something negative but after learning that I can't live like that I've opened back up. I'm so grateful for what God has put me through because he knows the path I'm on and everything happens for a reason to keep me on that path.

Well there ya go! My five things I'm thankful for this year! I hope this Thanksgiving or holiday season we all take time to reflect on what we are thankful for and all the good in our lives. Shower the people in your life with love because all you got is the moment you're in. I hope you all have an amazing Thanksgiving and I will talk to you on Friday!
What're some things you all are thankful for?
XOXO, Maddy
