How To Achieve Your Fitness/Health Goals!

Get Healthy in 2017!


Ahhhh I miss sunny days like this so bad!! Okay well actually it is sunny outside but there is A LOT of snow on the ground. So I guess I miss sunny days minus the snow. Anyways, today's post is all about how to get the motivation to stick to your 2017 fitness goals. Because I know we all couldn't help ourselves and we def have some fitness goals we want to accomplish. Monday's post was all about how to achieve any goal you've set but I figured fitness/health goals are SUCH A BIG THING that they needed their own post! 



Here are some of my tips to help us all get our booties in gear to achieve those health goals! 

1. Chose goals that are realistic yet excite you! Don't set yourself up for failure by giving yourself an impossible goal. That being said, make sure to set goals that light a fire under your butt. Goals should be attainable yet push you out of your comfort zone and get you excited! 

2. Try something new! This goes along with getting out of your comfort zone; if you find yourself always giving up with the same exercise routine CHANGE IT UP! There are so many companies that offer a free class, free week, or whatever so why not take advantage? You might hate it or you might find something you absolutely love, either way you learn something! 

3. Give yourself a break. I feel like why fitness or health resolutions always fail is because people try to go SO hard the first few weeks of January that they end up totally burned out by the end of the month. Make sure to take rest days, do some yoga to stretch it out, or eat that burger and fries you've been dreaming about. It is okay to loosen the reigns and let yourself relax, doing this will keep your motivation strong!

4. Rewards! Who doesn't love being rewarded? I'm pretty sure everyone loves rewards. Now don't go too crazy with this one, you should reward yourself when you truly deserve it. Hold yourself accountable. If your goal was to workout 3 times a week (and that is realistic for you) but you only worked out once and it was half assed don't reward yourself! On the other hand, if you've busted your butt in the gym, yoga studio, or didn't eat out once (when you're normally a regular) then go for it! Be proud of yourself! 

5. Make sure you have the right tools to set yourself up for success. Now I know I have made this more fitness centered but diet is a HUGE aspect of living a healthy lifestyle and achieving your fitness goals. Set up a Pinterest board with healthy recipes, buy a blender for green smoothies, or get a planner to write out the meals you plan on making. We can't do everything ourselves we need to make sure we have the right tools to help us succeed. Throwing a little fitness into this one, make sure you have comfortable workout clothes! This can mean different things to everyone but workout in what makes YOU feel comfortable not what you think you should be wearing.
