How To Wear Gingham

Shop The Look:
Top: L' Academie (wearing a small but could probably size down)
Skirt: Levi's (wearing a 25 for the slightest loose fit)
Purse: Kate Spade (mine's old)
Shoes: LC Lauren Conrad (wearing a size 6, definitely size down)

Happy Monday!! Tomorrow is the 4th of July and I am so excited! It is one of my FAVORITE holidays; anyone have fun plans? You can find me at the reservoir then watching a firework show!

On to this outfit, to be honest I did not think gingham was for me. I thought yeah its cute but nothing was cute enough for me to purchase until this top. I discovered this top, and brand, on Revolve and have completely fallen in love! It is a little nontraditional because it is blue and white not black and white which I thought not only fit my style more but also was lighter for summer. Before I forget I should mention that the straps are removable, so you technically can wear it two ways! Other things I loved about this top was that it was a crop top so I can wear it with all my high waisted bottoms and the sleeves! Can we just focus on the sleeves for a sec!? I loved that they added a little uniqueness to this top which makes it stand out amongst all the other gingham. Also, another big trend this season is puffed sleeves which this top has as well! Okay I think I've raved about this top enough!

Now I want to talk about this jean skirt but I promise I won't ramble like I did with the top! I recently saw the CUTEST jean skirt on Revolve but it was $150 which I just couldn't justify so I went on the hunt for a similar option but cheaper. That is where this Levi's skirt comes in! I love the light wash; dark wash reminds me too much of my 6th grade Abercrombie jean skirt lol. I also love that it is not a pencil skirt; I want to be able to MOVE! Oh and I can't forget to mention the distressing, it is just the right amount.

I hope you all got some gingham inspo from this post! And of course have a safe and fun 4th!!
XOXO, Maddy
