Easy DIY Halloween Costumes

Happy Monday! I was considering not doing any Halloween posts but then I thought that wouldn't be any fun haha! When it comes to Halloween I love getting dressed up but I don't like things to be complicated or expensive. Who's with me?? Although I have to say I might be putting out a little more money this year because I'm desperate to wear the costume I have in mind lol. Anyways, I know a lot of us are on a budget but still want fun/cute costumes to wear this year!

Here are some of my ideas:

1. Any sort of animal

Two years ago Kyle was a safari guide and I was a zebra, it was such a simple costume! I already had a black dress, tights and booties so I purchased the ears headband at Target for a few bucks then got these NYX sticks  (also at Target) in black and white for the stripes. Kyle is very artistically inclined so he drew my "stripes"!

2. Lola Bunny (&/or Bugs Bunny)

Last year Kyle and I were Lola and Bugs and I wish I had pictures to share! I loved how these costumes turned out! Kyle and I both bought white athletic tops at Target and ironed on the numbers the bunnies worn and their names on the back. I wore navy Soffe shorts while Kyle wore light grey joggers and we both had bunny ears.

3. Devil/Angel

I feel like the devil/angel thing is so overdone but hey so are animals haha! That being said, it is so easy to put either one of these together! When I was a devil I bought a red $10 tank dress from Forever 21, got a horn headband/sparkly pitchfork set from a costume shop and called it a day. The same year my friend was a angel and she already had a white dress in her closet so all she needed was a halo headband and wings.

4. Firefighter

Literally the simplest costume ever. Very basic but whatever! The same year I was a devil, I was a firefighter a different night; I used the same red dress from Forever 21 but added a cheap plastic firefighter hat to change it up! Oh and I happen to have knockoff Timberlands from Target that I paired with my ensemble.

5. Football Player

The same year I was a devil and a firefighter (yes I went big that year haha) I needed a costume for a third night so I borrowed my brother's Peyton Manning jersey, put on tall socks with white tennies and I don't think I did but you can draw black stripes on your face. Again, so easy and so simple! Borrow a jersey from someone or get a t-shirt that says a player's number and name OR buy a plain tee and simple draw that info on!

As you can tell these costumes are literally the simplest you've probably ever heard haha! Like I said I like Halloween but I find it kinda silly to put out a fortune just for something you'll wear once. These costumes are also great because you can make them more elaborate if you want. Hopefully this was helpful for you guys especially my babes on a budget!

I can't wait to share with you guys what I'm going to be!
XOXO, Maddy
