How To Get Back To Normal From Traveling

Today we are talking travel which is something I haven't talked about much before! Tbh I haven't traveled much in my life so I haven't really felt qualified to post anything related to travel. That being said, any advice regarding any subject I want to pass on to you all!

In this post I want to talk about something I struggled HARD with this week and that is: how to get back to normal after a trip. We (Kyle, brother and me) recently roadtriped to and from California where we spent about 3 1/2 days, let's just say I was not the best about coming back. For the past few days I felt run down, tired, and lethargic but why!? Like honestly I shouldn't feel this blah it's kind of ridiculous. Today, I am finally starting to feel better and getting back into a routine and I know what I could've done better on. So here are a few things to prevent you from being like me:

1. Unpack IMMIEDATLEY

Do. Not. Wait. OMFG If you wait things will build up and become even more of a mess which will then lead to unnecessary stress and anxiety.

2. Go to the grocery store right away

Unless you're getting in super late at night, go to the store and get some fresh food even if it's just for a day or two until you can fully grocery shop. Most likely on vacation you didn't even very healthy and when you come back you probably don't have food in the fridge so suck it up and get your butt to Trader Joe's. It will make you feel good to have healthy options at home and not have to eat out anymore.

3. Get some Vitamin C

While you're at the store pick up some AirBorne or Emergenc-e, something packed with vitamin C. While it is best to get vitamins from food, getting back from a trip you need a heavy dose to keep you healthy.

4. Get some sleep

Time zones can through your body majorly out of whack no matter how far you did or didn't travel so throw back a melatonin and konk out! Getting a full, solid night's rest is so important to adjusting back to normal life.

5. Workout

Again, on vacation you might not be your healthiest self which is fine (don't hate on your lovely self!!) but it is important to get your body moving after being on a plane or in a car or sitting for hours in the sun. Get your blood flowing and go for a walk or if you're feeling it pick up some weights.

I hope you all enjoyed my tips! I know they're pretty simple but after traveling I found myself super LAZY which is so silly but true! Next time I'm being strict with myself and doing all of these.

XOXO, Maddy
