How To Start Your Week Off Right

Happy Monday friends! I apologize for not posting on Friday but this weekend I decided to lie low on the blog/social media. I feel like I'm always on my phone checking social media so every once in a while I try to take a little break to reset. I'm thinking of making it a weekly thing, like one day a week, because I find it very refreshing to take a step away from my phone, social media in particular.

Today is the start of a fresh week (duh I'm sure everyone is aware it's Monday lol) so today's blog post is all about setting yourself up for a good week! I think how I start my week, or even every morning, affects how the rest of the day/week goes. Every week I strive to be productive as possible while still maintaining a life balance; checking things off my to-do list is so satisfying but I also want to make sure I'm taking time to relax.

Prepping for a new week doesn't have to be overwhelming in fact it should be calming and put you more at ease. It also doesn't have to be complicated and involve 100 steps, here are my three tips for setting yourself up for a positive week!

Prepping For a New Week

1. Do a brain dump Sunday night

This is something I really want to start doing! First things first all credit of this idea goes to Brighton Keller, I read her blog post about "brain dumping" and honestly thought it was genius. Basically you write down every. single. thing on your mind, without judgment, and bit by bit you organize all your thoughts that may be overwhelming you. I highly recommend checking the link above because it is Brighton's entire blog post dedicated to "how to brain dump"!

2. Fill out your planner as much as you can

Every Sunday night I like to sit down with my planner and a pen and fill out everything I can for the week ahead. Sometimes this is something I have to force myself to start because I'm feeling anxious but once I do I feel so much better! While you may not be able to fill out every little detail for the coming week make sure to write down all the big stuff and what you hope to accomplish.

3. Meal prep

While some of you may be meal prep experts I know there are a lot of people who find meal prepping very intimidating but I'm here to tell you it doesn't have to be! If you have an extremely busy week ahead it can be very helpful to meal prep a ton of stuff in advance. That being said, if the idea of meal prepping for two hours makes you nauseated try making your breakfast or lunch for the next day. Simply taking one thing off tomorrow's to-do list can help ease anxiety by a lot!

Hope this helps and let me know in the comments or on Instagram if you try these tips!

XOXO, Maddy
