Immunity 101: How To Stay Healthy This Winter Season



So many winter bugs going around!!! How is one suppose to stay healthy and germ free?? I feel like every other day I'm hearing someone in real life or on social media say that they're extremely under the weather or someone close to them is. I take my immunity very seriously, probably a little too seriously at times just ask my boyfriend haha. But I don't want to be sick!! When you're sick you can't get much done and I HATE that feeling.

That is why today's blog post is all about how to keep your immunity up! I wanted to share some of my tips on how to keep away germies this winter season.

Vitamin C

If you are starting to feel even a little under the weather or someone around you is coughing up a storm start throwing back some vitamin C. We all know that vitamin C is related to immunity but drinking a glass of OJ in the morning isn't going to cut it. Either drink a vitamin C specific drink (like Airborne) or take vitamin C pills. During flu season you're going to need a concentrated dose of this wonderful vitamin!

Sleep

Again, seems very no brainer but for some reason people are still really bad at getting the sleep they need! Your body needs rest, it needs a break so give it one. Make sure you're getting into bed at a reasonable hour so that when your obnoxious alarm goes off you actually feel refreshed. 

Echinacea 

Now this baby you can put in your OJ! When I was younger my mom always put echinacea in my brother and my juice in the morning during sick season and I honestly think it helped a lot. It is a natural (which I love!) preventitive supplement that has been known to improve the immune system. 

Probiotics 

It doesn't matter how (well it kinda does) but get probiotics into your diet! This is something I have been very bad at lately. Probiotics are amazing for our bodies because our bodies need good bacteria! When we are intaking probiotics it improves our gut health which in return makes it easier to fight off infections. 

These are only four out of the many ways to up your immunity and prevent yourself from getting sick. Obviously wash your hands and keep your distance from people who are already sick. When there are sick people around me I'm kind of a psycho because like I said I take my immune system very seriously! Anyways, I hope all of you reading this post stay healthy this winter season!
