3 Vegan Foods I Always Have In My Pantry

Happy Wednesday! How's everyone's week going? Today I wanted to share a few things I always have on hand to make vegan/plant based meals. I feel like sometimes a plant based lifestyle can be overwhelming because it seems like there are so many changes from a normal diet. While that is true I promise it's not as difficult as it seems! If you're looking for meal ideas I have two posts on meatless Monday recipes, here and here.

I'll be sharing more pantry staples over time but these are three things that make a vegan lifestyle a little easier!

3 Pantry Staples

1. Nutritional Yeast

If you haven't heard of nutritional yeast jump on the band wagon! I probably use nutritional yeast at least once a day; this is what gives dishes a "cheesy" flavor. While I do use fake cheeses I try not to over do it because those are processed so nutritional yeast is a great healthier alternative.

2. Cashews

Not only are cashews great to snack on but they give any sauce the creamiest texture while not adding any flavor. I honestly can't explain it but any time you want to make a sauce or creamy soup cashews will be your go-to. I love pairing it with nutritional yeast, almond milk, and spices to make a "cheese" sauce.

3. Vega Protein Powder

I'm sure there are many people out there who think that vegan protein powder tastes gross or doesn't have as much protein as whey but I'm here to debunk that rumor. I've tried many vegan protein powders and honestly think there are a lot of good options but Vega is a go-to for me. Personally I find it the most consistent across flavors (my favorite is chocolate!) and it's the most accessible, at least where I live.

Let me know what you think of this post on Insta!

XOXO, Maddy
