3 Ways To Spring Clean Your Diet

Hey everyone! Let's take on this week together! If you read my Instagram Round Up post last week you know that last week was just a funky week for me so this week I'm ready to start on more of a positive note. Tomorrow I'm headed to San Diego with my mom and I'm so excited! I've never been to San Diego so I'm ready to explore and for some warm weather!

Today I wanted to talk about a few ways to "spring clean" your diet. By saying "spring clean" I don't mean anything crazy like a restrictive diet, all I mean is a few ways to make your everyday diet a little cleaner so you can feel great. Everyone is different so most importantly listen to your body and what feels best!

3 Ways to Spring Clean Your Diet

1. Focus On Your Gut

I've talked about gut health a few times here and there but I want to focus on it more over the course of the next few months because it is incredibly important. Bad gut health can lead to a frenzy of problems but a few things it can affect is your brain health, immunity and bloating. Your body needs a good balance of healthy bacteria to function properly so make sure you're getting a healthy dose of probiotics! A few ways to incorporate probiotics into your diet are kombucha, probiotic pill, and sauerkraut.

2. Incorporate More Veggies

This one is a struggle for me by the time I'm done making a meal I'm too tired to cook another thing like veggies but I'm really trying to work on this! My goal is to eat veggies at lunch and dinner so that's my challenge for you try eating some sort of veggie (no, one piece of lettuce on a burger doesn't count lol) at two of your meals. We all know vegetables are good for us so let's focus on upping our intake. Want glowy skin for summer or a flat stomach (not that that's all that matters because veggies help a lot more than that!)? Veggies should be your go to!

3. Homemake More

Okay I feel like this one might be the most intimidating tip in this post but I promise it's doable! I say "homemake more" because even if you just make some muffins from scratch that's a lot better than nothing! So no you don't have to homemake everything that goes into your mouth but try to make a couple of homemade snacks for yourself through out the week. Protein balls, bars, trail mix, muffins, etc. can be great healthy snacks but a lot of store bought ones are packed with unnecessary ingredients like added sugars. Having homemade snacks ready to go are a great way to keep on track with your health goals!

XOXO, Maddy
